Do you feel overwhelmed all the time? Anxious, worried, and in fear? Do you feel like there is always more to do? Do you feel like you can never get a break from life no matter how hard you try?

In this article I’m going to share with you the two types of burnout that we can experience. The first is bodily burnout where we burn out our adrenals and the second is spiritual burnout where we burnout out our entire being and don’t know where else to turn to.

First, I will share with you how these types of burnouts happen and then how to prevent it.

Many of us are familiar with burnout. The unrelenting, never-ending, tired feeling we always have in the background of our consciousness. We feel it mostly when we wake up. And then what do we do? We reach for the coffee pot.

However, this doesn’t keep us from getting burnout. It only prolongs the inevitable. Our body has a natural energy system. When we reach for fake alternative sources of energy such as coffee and caffeine we squeeze the life out of our kidneys. If we do this long enough eventually the body will fight back and well succumb to adrenal fatigue and burnout. At this point it doesn’t matter how much coffee or caffeine we have our body won’t respond to it. We’ll build up a tolerance and feel no effects of the energy.

There are some ways that we can avoid this burnout however. There are many forms of natural energy that we have available to us within our body but we’ve never been taught to access them.

#1 Quick Breathing ( Hyperventilation)

Surprisingly, hyperventilation is a great way to restore your body’s natural levels quickly. It gives you a jolt of energy and alertness. Hyperventilation reduces the carbon dioxide in the blood and increases the oxygen in the blood stream. It makes you feel alert and alive.

#2 Vitamin B-12

Vitamin B is a wonderful natural energy substitute as opposed to using something like caffeine. Vitamin B allows our blood vessels to expand and open up which allows for fuller and deeper blood flow throughout the entire body. Oxygen spreads throughout the entire body giving us a feeling of relaxation, yet allows our brain to remain alert and open.

#3 Meditation or Mindfulness

Mindfulness is now being accepted in the mainstream as a legitimate form of relaxation. Thousands of studies have been conducted on it ever since John Kabat Zinn studied this form of meditation in the 70s. Mindfulness is the simple awareness of everything in the moment. This form of meditation allows us the body to go into a deep state of relaxation yet allows us to maintain our levels of awareness. It’s the simplest way to feel energized and relaxed while still getting everything that we need to get done.

A word of caution to everyone who practices spiritual practices such as yoga and meditation. There is a point to where you can do these things too much. Meditation should be done sparingly. Many people who have never experienced meditation or it’s affects can end up being addicted to certain spiritual practices because it makes them feel good.

However, then everything starts going haywire. They get addicted and overwhelmed and start to feel major anxiety, depression, and darkness. You can unlock too much in the mind. You can overwhelm yourself. When it comes to meditation be very careful as to how you approach it or else you can get spiritual burnout. Many people start spiritual practices to feel better in their bodies, reduce anxiety, and depression. However, at the same time if you do it to much it can actually worsen these symptoms. Some practitioners will actually think that the darkness they are experiencing will only be helped by their spiritual practices so they continue to go into the darkness deeper and deeper. If this is what you’re doing then stop. There is such a thing as doing too many “spiritual” practices. This is called spiritual burnout.

Deepest Blessings and Pranams
