Do you get caught up in creative blocks? Can’t find your own voice? Do you struggle with writer's block?
In this article I’m going to share with you the secret to having unlimited creativity.
Many of us get caught up in areas where we feel like our mental energy is blocked. We sit behind the computer and frustrate over finding the next sentence for our article or books. However, there are a couple of techniques that we can use to activate to more creative part of our brain.
#1 integrate your inner child
The inner child is that part of us that is unlimitedly creative. It doesn’t care what other people think it simply expresses itself. Many of the times our creative blocks stem from this issue. We aren’t in touch with our inner child because we’ve had to close it off to survive our upbringing. Maybe growing up a certain way with our family we had to be a specific way. We weren’t allowed to express ourselves the way that we truly wanted to so we learned to shut down our expressive side. Everything became remote and automated. We were scared of sharing our true ideas and true creative expression.
What happens?
We lock up our thinking. We lose access to that deep unlimited well-spring of creativity that we had as a child. We lose our ability to see the world as a magical place where our living room can morph into a space ship. Or where some sheets over chairs turn into a citadel. If you feel like you’re creativity is blocked then chances are the first thing you need to figure out is how to integrate your inner child.
And many of the reasons why are inner child is locked away is because it doesn’t feel safe. It doesn’t feel like it can come out and express itself. We need to learn how to build a relationship with it. Which can take some time. If you feel like you’re having trouble with expressing yourself fully, feel fear or anxiety about sharing new ideas, or feel blocked from your creativity then you not in relationship with your inner child.
DM and we can start talking strategy to get that part of you back up and running.
#2 Breathe in through the left side of you nose only.
This may sound bizarre but it works. In the yogic tradition each nostril connects to each side of the brain. For instance, If you plug in your left nostril and all your air comes in through the right side then you will activate the left side of your brain. You’ll start thinking more logically and linearly. However, if you want to feel more creative and emotional then plug up the right side of your nose and inhale through the left side. This will activate the right side of your brain which will allow you to feel more creative and emotional.
Little tid bit tricks like these can be used everyday in your life depending on what it is that you have to do. Your body is a tool. Your mind is a tool. Too many times in our lives our mind rules us. Our body rules us. They give us so many issues to deal with. But what if we could take back our power and view these things as tools to be used to create the type of life and lifestyle that we want for ourselves here and in the now.
Deepest Pranams.
