Do you feel a lack of abundance in your life? Do you feel like you’re doing all the right things such as meditating, eating healthy, following the Law of Attraction yet nothing is working. I’ve been there, and it can be incredibly frustrating and angry. However, these emotions are there for your good. To point you into the direction of a solution.
In this article I’m going to share with you why we have money blocks, redefine our relationship to money, and then share with you how to step into abundance.
We’ve been conditioned from birth that money is a bad thing. Money is the root of all evil. That’s what the Bible says. Well, I’m going to give you a hint. That was written by a poor person who was frustrated and couldn’t find a way to make money that benefited all. Back then it was harder to come by mentors and books due to technological limitations. However, now a days we can’t seem to find enough of them. In the earlier days there was a lack of info and teachers now there is too much and we don’t know who or where to turn to.
For many of us our relationship to money is illegitimate. We think it’s bad, and that evil uptight people wearing suits have it all, and they have to scam the hardworking middle-class out of it.
This is a lie. While I guess these people may exist I’ve meant plenty of business owners who have wealth, who are incredibly empathic and spiritual, and who are on the route to success and have a huge heart of service. My one client Dustin runs a packaging company in Boulder, Co. and he does amazing work for his clients and is creating a company that truly cares for its employees. I wanted to share this with you so I can dispel that false belief about the rich being evil life sucking manipulators.
There is this unconscious belief in the collective that says, “If I benefit that means you lose.” In the case of money if someone is giving it to me then that person is losing. They’re being suckered. This is a scarcity mindset that stems from a win-lose mentality.
Where does this narrative come from in the first place?
Like most things it comes from our ancestors. We all have ancestors who lived during the Great Depression or other low economic times. And before that others have struggled to find adequate necessities.
If the mind cannot find a reason for its condition then it will look out to the external world to find a reason that makes sense. Simply put, we make up stories to make ourselves feel better about our present condition.
This is a fallacy, don’t fall for it. Instead of making up a story like your ancestors to define your condition become resolute to change your condition. We all have skills and a brain. Use these to evolve and expand and create.
The most successful people on the planet know that it can be win-win and act that way. And how that’s how you should think about it. How can I add value in the form of a service or a product that I truly believe in and how can people give money for that return of service. We need to change our relationship from money. The way I see money is nothing more then a symbolic form of energy that represents appreciation and gratitude. I perform a heartfelt service for someone that changes and transforms their life and they provide me with money.
Many people, including myself at times, get awkward when it comes to working with money. We always want to avoid the money issue. It’s like the elephant in the room that we don’t want to address. View it how it truly is. A natural part of life and business. It’s simply just a symbol that represents the value of the service you are offering. It’s actually love itself. You deliver a heartfelt service that you actually care about that you know will benefit people and they give you back money.
Giving money is a way to show affection, thankfulness, and gratitude.
I’ve had people ask me, “I can’t afford your services why don’t you do them for free?” And I say to them, “One because I value my work and so do other people and if I do it for free you won’t value it as much.” Think about it. Anything that you’ve gotten for free or haven’t worked for do you value it as much as something you did work for? We value and care for the things that we work for, it’s just human. Also, if I did my work for free, one I’d be out of a job and two I wouldn’t value you as much or the service I’m giving you.
That’s human nature and natural too. When we know we’re getting paid and adequately recompensed we will show up more to the job.
Look at money as nothing more then a symbol of appreciation for the services you deliver. When you view it this way you won’t be nervous to ask for money to close a business deal or to raise your prices. It will become natural. As your skills increase so does your offer and benefit to the world which will allow you to ask for more money. All it takes is a simple reframe of mindset in relationship to money.
Pranams.
