Desire: Have You Lost Motivation After Awakening?

Do you feel a lack of drive or desire? Do you feel “lazy” and unmotivated?

In this article I’m going to share with you the real reason why desire seems to kick down during the awakening process and why alignment kicks up.

Many people report during their awakening process that their desire or ambitions goes way down. They feel like they don’t need a career, fancy things, or a reputation. It’s like all of a sudden they’ve lost all drive for the external world. Why does this happen?

Desire is the want to be somewhere that we are not. And desire stems from believing that there is something better. It stems from the belief that we don’t have something that is right in front of us. Thus desire takes us out of who we are, which is an amazing pure and self-satisfied being.

Our true desire should be to be connected to ourselves and God first. When we do that then all other desires just come. This is why everything falls away during the awakening process. There is nothing wrong with wanting dreams and things in the physical. Desire is natural, it is how we expand and grow.

However, the important thing about desire is to realize that we need to first desire a connection with god and ourselves. Many of us go around and try to acquire things in life. Relationships, money, social status. None of these things are inherently wrong. What is inherently wrong about them is our relationship to them. We think that these things will make us ultimately happy. And they can for a temporary amount of time. The only thing that can truly satisfy your being is a connection to yourself and god.

If you feel like you’re in the awakening process and everything is being stripped away from you including your desire then go back to your heart. Place both hands over your heart and ask it what it truly wants. What it truly needs. What it truly desires. If you listen carefully and intently I guarantee you that the answer will be a connection to yourself and god.

Once you have this established then all the other desires of your heart will come true. Christ was aware of this principle. He always said, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and all of this shall be added to you.”

When we desire god and connect back with ourselves and him then that power naturally starts to flow through you. You begin to interact with the world in a different way. You begin to magnetize people into your life and experience. When you truly align with yourself and god then all of your needs are taken care of and met instantly. When you have this desire fulfilled you’ll find that all other desires of the heart drop away. That doesn’t mean you still cannot have them or that they won’t be fulfilled but you won’t feel like you “need” them anymore.

People living today mistake wants for needs. We truly don’t need that much. But many of us think that our wants are needs and we get lost and confused chasing all of these wants.

A need is something that you cannot live without. A want is something that you desire that you think will make your life more enjoyable, better, and fulfilling. There isn’t anything wrong with a want. It’s just that when you place your happiness, well being, and fulfillment of life on top of that want then be ready for it to disappoint you.

If you place your everything on something other then god and yourself your doomed to unhappiness or misery eventually, which is what many of us do in relationships.

If you worried about losing your desire for things then refocus onto god and yourself. Ask your heart what it truly desires. You will find that your heart longs to be connected to yourself and god. And when you place these ahead of everything else, you’ll find that all the other desires that you had before will either materialize in front of you or they will fall away. Either way satisfaction is met!
