Are you starting to trust the universe more but cannot figure out the balance between taking action in the world and trusting that life is working for you? Does trusting the universe mean not being proactive? Does taking action stem from an anxiety that you don’t trust the world around you?

In this article I will cover with you the new paradigm that we step into when we start off along the awakening path, how to balance action with non-action, and finally I will share with you the correct mindset that we are to have towards life, ourselves, and the universe around us.

When I first started down the awakening path I followed my passions yet I brought with me the old mindset of the past. I worked hard all the time and my brain told me that if I were to stop and take too much of a break then I would fail and not make enough money to live.

So while I was living my passion I was still addicted to anxiety and stress and uncertainty about the path. If your fully trusting in the world then doesn’t that mean that you just live life and trust that it will provide everything for you? How do you balance taking action in the world with trusting the universe and sitting back and relaxing a bit?

There is a phase during the awakening process where we stop living our old way of life. We no longer work the same long hard hours at a mediocre job, we no longer stay in the same abusive relationship, we are done “working” things out and realize that life shouldn’t have friction. During the transition period we may go through a phase where we aren’t doing much of anything. We take long walks outside regularly, we enjoy our meals and showers. We indulge in the present moment and experience our being and our life in a whole new way. However, somewhere along the line reality hits and we realize that we have bills to pay and roles to play, such as being a mother, father, or friend. How to balance the desire to live in the self and the outward responsibilities of the world?

Many people think that the awakening process is a free pass to let go of all cares and concerns in the world. The say “surrender” and “let go.” This is a part of the awakening process but only a phase and there comes a time when we need to start taking massive action.

Yet, we take massive action from a different inner space. You see, before the awakening we were unconsciously anxious only trusting ourselves. We believed that life was only up to us and that we alone created the reality that we wanted. We worked hard to get the things we wanted and achieve our goals. If we didn’t meet these goals then we told ourselves, “I have to work harder.” We would put our goals over our own happiness and internal fulfillment, which is our natural state of being.

After the awakening process we realize that we are chasing a carrot at the end of stick which is tied to our back. You may get to the goal but then after that you realize that there are more goals and more goals to achieve. You feel temporarily satisfied yet after achieving the goal you start down the path of another one.

There is nothing wrong with going after our goals however we need to see what our being is doing. You are placing your internal fulfillment on external circumstances. External circumstances are never guaranteed or certain so why place your inner fulfillment on something that isn’t in your control. What you should be doing is taking action and going after your goals but not be attached to the achievement of your goals. When you realize that you are already fulfilled within then you see how ridiculous it is to chase after external things. This is where many people go wrong. They say, “Well I feel internally satisfied with myself so why do anything on the outside? I trust that the universe will provide for me everything that I need so I can just stay here in this space and not worry about my external responsibilities.” This is the wrong mindset.

Just because your fulfilled internally and don’t feel as if you need to do anything anymore doesn’t mean you don’t take action. You still take action in the world. You still maintain your responsibilities and roles however you detach from outcomes. You take action but don’t be attached to the fruits that those actions bear.

Before awakening you’d take action and were attached to the outcome. After awakening, you should still take just as much action yet don’t be attached to the outcome. You save yourself a lot of internal frustration, anger, and confusion. Simply wake up each morning and say to yourself, “It is my duty as a human being to do whatever I need to do today. Nothing more and nothing less.”

Now how to balance trusting the universe with taking action. If you fully trust the universe then it becomes easy to fall into the trap of allowing your mind to say, “I don’t ever have to do anything again because the universe will provide.”

Well, yes the universe will provide but it also provided you with the ability to take action. Just because you had an awakening doesn’t mean you never have to work or hustle. Now people might say, “Well I was hustling before my awakening why should I do it after.” Because you have a duty and responsibility to yourself and your fellow man. You have been given specific talents and capabilities. Use these talents and capabilities to bless yourself, your loved ones, and your fellow man…… NOT TO GRATIFY YOUR OWN EGO.

You see, before awakening we “hustled” for the wrong reasons, to look good, to impress others, and to flatter ourselves. Now, post awakening you still should take action and “hustle” but you should do it for the sake of doing it because it is what your capable of and you can bless those around you because of your skills and talents. You see, the internal shift is you go from gratifying yourself to gratifying others.

Now, what does it mean to stay in flow with the universe? There is this common misconception in the awakening world that if your following your soul and passion then your life will become one synchronicity after another and it will be a piece of cake because your just in flow. This isn’t true! It’s a misconception. Just because you’re following your passion doesn’t mean that you won’t encounter hard times or troubling times or testing times ever again.

It simply means that you’ll have the strength and necessary passion to cut through the brush and BS that life sends your way. You see most people when they aren’t following their passion they usually get disheartened very easily. A block in the road could make them turn around and give up. However, the person following their passion and soul call is still privy to all the same bumps and roadblocks that anyone else is privy to when starting down a new venture the only difference is their soul gives them that extra strength to push through the trying times because it truly believes in what it’s doing. The WHY is what keeps you pushing through and can make your dreams a reality.

So YES! Trust the universe. That means trusting yourself and trusting each and every decision you make. It doesn’t mean that you will never have hard times but it does mean that you will have the strength, courage, and will to push through when the roadblocks get laid down.

Deepest Blessings and Peace!
